My Diplom project covers nine different series, each composed of different pencil drawings. Own and collected photographs served as a basis for the drawings. The pencil drawings were digitised and printed on a combination of glass plates and paper rolls.
The thematic focus was directed on everyday objects and other banalities, or things that are less known in our visual experience for their cognitive effects. By means of this extraction process, these objects were lifted out of their usual contexts. In recombining them with additional such objects, or with different versions of one and the same thing, new and unusual interactions were brought into being. In this way – by forming complete, self-contained, and thus legitimate bodies – a new discovery of the value of these objects is initiated.
